The roots of yoga – and its significance today
Yoga has an ancient history and originates from India's spiritual tradition. Originally, yoga was a holistic path to self-awareness—a combination of physical postures (Asanas), breathing techniques (Pranayama), meditation, and ethical lifestyle practices.
Over time, yoga has evolved and also become a valued practice in the West—not only for physical health but also for mental balance and inner growth.
Today, yoga is an valuable balance for many people in hectic daily life: a moment of calm, grounding, and mindful pause. Although there are many styles, the core remains the same – the connection of body, mind, and breath.
