Children's Yoga in Kindergarten

For many years I have been accompanying children with children's yoga in kindergarten and in school. For me, it's about much more than movement or individual yoga exercises.

Children today grow up in a world that is often loud, fast and full of expectations. From an early age they compare themselves, want to belong and sometimes believe they are not good enough.

I want to offer a place where they can simply be children. A place where they discover that they are just right as they are. With stories, movement, breathing exercises, fantasy journeys and playful yoga sessions, children learn to perceive their bodies, to make sense of their feelings and to develop trust in themselves.

The focus is not on performance – but on joy, self-confidence and a loving relationship with oneself.

Why children's yoga in kindergarten?

Children today need, more than ever, a place where they can simply be themselves. A place where no one judges, compares or expects them to be perfect. In yoga, children don't learn to be better than others. They learn to trust themselves.

They experience that every child brings their own strengths and that being different is something valuable. Quite incidentally, yoga and mindfulness also foster concentration, body awareness, coordination and a mindful way of treating one another.

That's why, for me, children's yoga is so much more than movement. It contributes to children growing up with a healthy sense of self-worth.

Children's yoga builds self-confidence

Strong self-confidence doesn't come from children constantly hearing what they could do better. It comes when they experience being accepted. That is exactly what I want to give them in my yoga classes. Every child brings their own personality – lively or calm, cautious or brave. In yoga there is no right or wrong. There is only your own path.

How valuable children's yoga can be for children's development is also shown by the AOK guide.
