children's yoga in schools

Yoga creates a conscious counterbalance. Through movement, breathing and mindfulness, children learn to come to rest, to perceive their bodies better and to get through the day with more clarity. In today's fast-paced world, in which pupils too are increasingly under pressure to perform and overwhelmed by stimuli, Children's Yoga in Schools makes a valuable contribution to health prevention. In this way, yoga becomes a fixed part of everyday school life – for more balance, concentration and a good sense of togetherness in the classroom.

Staying present in the moment – a skill that we adults must learn anew and should preserve for our children.

Why children's yoga works in schools

School life often means sitting, concentrating on intellectual tasks and little room for physical balance. When children learn to control their breathing consciously and to release tension through targeted postures, this has a direct effect on the classroom atmosphere. Studies show that regular mindfulness practice can demonstrably improve concentration and social interaction in schools. An overview of the research is offered by kinderyoga.de.

Among other things, yoga promotes:

  • Concentration and attention
  • Body awareness and coordination
  • Inner calm and stress regulation
  • Self-confidence and social skills

Because children who trust themselves learn more easily, treat others more mindfully and go through life stronger. This strength reaches far beyond the individual yoga class and has a positive influence on togetherness throughout school life.

My wish is that every child leaves the class feeling:

“I am good just as I am.”

Children today spend a large part of their day sitting.
In my yoga classes they can do again what children naturally need: move, laugh, experiment, relax and simply be themselves. For younger children, I also offer suitable yoga classes in Kindergarten .
